1995   Bill Clinton invokes emergency powers to provide a $20 billion loan to help Mexico avoid a financial collapse.

2000   Vicente Fox is elected President of Mexico, defeating candidates Francisco Labastida and Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas

2000   Vicente Fox is inaugurated as President of Mexico
